The catalogue of fundamental geo-spatial data sets for Africa
PositionIT
The economic development of Africa is strongly dependent on the development of geo-spatial data sets. Most of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s) require spatial data to solve the problems which the continent faces. This necessity for spatial data required the prioritisation to develop such data sets. The primary initiative (and reported here) to develop such data sets has been labelled "Mapping Africa for Africa" and is strongly supported by the NEPAD secretariat.
